What a sweet way to show someone you love them! These adorable heart frames make for a nice gift or card to spread love to family and friends!I don’t know about you, but my favorite activities with my kids are kids crafts that show others how much we love and care about them! These Valentine’s Day Sweetheart frames do just that!
P.S. Hi! I am Tracy. I am a teacher made mom to twin girls plus one boy! We love sharing kids crafts and learning activities with other moms and kids! I believe every mom is their child’s first teacher.
Here are the super simple directions to create these cute little frames.
Valentine’s Day Sweet Heart Frames Craft for Kids
Materials for Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Frames:
1 Paper plate per child
Scissors
Paint-red, pink, or purple
Paintbrush
Instructions for Valentine’s Day Sweet Heart Frames Craft for Kids:
First, you or your kids can fold the paper plate.
Then you or your kids can cut half a heart, so when it opens, it is a whole heart. I helped a lot with this. Whether you let your kids cut is based on your comfort level.
Then, pick a color to paint. H picked pink, M picked purple, and J picked red.
Next, paint the paper plates.
Finally, let them dry and enjoy poking your face through for cute pictures or adding in a printed picture to personalize it!
Add More Learning:
Colors: We explored all different kinds of painting with different colors in this activity! You can talk about different colors that blend to change the colors. M really liked mixing white with purple and H really liked her red but I showed her how it could change to pink by just adding some white.
Sensory: If you want to explore with different materials to paint with, you can set out a bowl of vegetables that maybe you didn’t end up using for dinner the night before. We had left over asparagus, one whole for each child. Also, we had the ends of the asparagus left over that they could use to roll on paint or stamp little circles all over their frames…whatever their creative hearts desire! H, M, and even J enjoyed painting with asparagus, their fingers, and paintbrushes!
Writing: You can write something around the frame and make into a card or keepsake for loved ones.
Social Skills: You can add a picture, in the middle or you can take a picture of them with their sweet faces in the middle. We talked about feelings and facial expressions they were making too.
I hope you enjoy getting creative together! What are some ways you are showing some love this Valentine’s Day?!
Let me know how it goes if you try the Valentine’s Day Sweetheart frames!
Enjoy,
