Apple Tree Counting Learning Craft with Play-doh
Instructions:
To prep, you or the kids can roll up some red play-doh into apple balls. Put them into a little container. I found a tiny little yogurt cup that we called the “apple basket” and they just loved it!
You can have the kids make their own trees or you can make them ahead of time.
For the tree, you can make a flat oval of green for the top of the apple tree.
You can add yellow or brown playdough as the tree trunk.
Next, You can have them pick a number (either from the red construction paper apples or just a paper with number on it).
Then, you can have them add that number of playdough apples to their tree top.
You can check with them to see if they matched the correct amount of playdough apples with the number.
H and M loved starting their own little make believe play with their apple trees.
It was nice that this Apple Tree Learning Craft with Play-doh gave me extra time to get their breakfast made this morning!
For added learning, You can cut out little red construction paper circles for apples and put each number on the apple for the kids to pick. If you don’t have red construction paper, you can just write a number down on a paper you have on hand, or show them a number with your fingers. Work with what you have.
Faith: You can talk about how God helps us grow up closer to him as we move forward in our lives. You can talk about listening to God’s callings for you in your life and making good choices. You can tie in the struggle of Adam and Eve with good choices, but remind them how God still loved them and took care of them after.
Enjoy!
