When we feel held back, when we feel drained, when we feel we are not enough, there are 7 words that came to me today that momspired or inspired me plus 5 ideas to remind all of us moms to love ourselves.
In today’s message from a creative coaching course I’ve taken called “Imagine” by Beryl Ayn Young, we did a really relaxing meditation. It can be hard for me to relax sometimes, but I just loved this. It revealed more goodness than I could expect.
What came to me on the first door we entered:
“Faith”…like “Have faith to move forward”
7 Words that came to me on an old opened book in the meditation:
“You are loved the whole way through.” were the words listed on the front of a book, that represented my next steps forward towards the creative dreams God placed in my heart. All of the worries left and what replaced it was love and trust.
So often I think what has held me back has been a lack of love and trust in myself. It’s not that I’ve ever hated myself, it’s just I didn’t believe in my own inner ideas and feelings enough, without approval from others. That’s where faith comes into play.
Sometimes, God puts ideas in our hearts that may be scary to put into action. So, maybe we ask others what they think and sometimes we just get set back even more because not everyone is called to do what God is calling us to do as individuals, so maybe they don’t push us forward. That’s where trust comes in. When we trust ourselves, we are trusting God. I read about the importance of trusting ourselves today in my devotional “The Confident Woman” by Joyce Meyer (I am not an affiliate for any of the books or programs mentioned on this post, I’m just sharing what has helped me).
I know God whispers in each of our hearts and for a long time, and for me, I tried to ignore what He’s saying because it just feels like too much for me to do. One of those dreams is writing children’s books for twins. The thing is, all of it is too much for me to do alone. I need His hand and His strength to step out and maybe that’s the point, remembering to lean on Him and ask Him to bring others into my life who can help me move forward.
When I am not loving on myself, it is easy to believe others around me aren’t loving me either, which is just not true and it causes more negativity which then just brings me and the whole situation down lower.
Trusting in our love from God, helps us trust that others love us too (even if they aren’t acting exactly how we need them to act for us to feel loved).
This lack of love in myself is so much more important than I could have ever imagined, because it can hold me back from a blessed life for me and for others too.
If I remember the good that comes out of intentionally loving and trusting myself, then I will be motivated to keep up the good works God puts in my heart. I have more ideas to help us moms to love on ourselves here.
Here are some reminders to motivate us moms to keep loving and trusting ourselves.
5 Ways Loving Myself Makes the World a Better Place
When I am loving myself, it means I am believing in God’s creation of me and the ideas he puts in my heart to share with others. Right now for me, it’s writing what He puts in my heart on this twin mom blog and my twin children’s books (yes he whispered this in my heart 2 years ago).
When I am loving myself, I am confidently listening to my creative heart and stepping forward boldly in faith and trust. Right now for me, it’s writing and illustrating children’s books for twins.
When I am loving myself, I am sharing my story and spreading hope and love to others.
When I am loving myself, I am loving on my family.
When I am loving myself, I feel free to be me. I embrace ME, I embrace my strengths and build on those. I embrace my struggles and see them as opportunities to reach out to others and God for help with those.
I’m so excited to have you all join me on this new dream God placed in my heart, writing children’s books for twins and their families! Thank you and I can’t wait to connect more soon:)
If you need to get in touch with your creative heart, check out Beryl Ayn Young’s website “Recapture Self”. I am at the end of her “Imagined” program, feeling renewed and refreshed to step forward in what God is calling me to do, which is continue writing! First, my children’s book about twins and also my sharing my twin mom journey:)
Remember, no matter where you are in your twin mom journey, You are loved the whole way through and God is right there with you.
